While most folks are familiar with Currier & Ives as a printer of full-sized “Winter Wonderland” lithographs, it is surprising that C&I only printed a few different 5 x 3 inch Victorian Trade Cards with winter scenes. This "We Parted on the Hillside" comic card with a Horse Sleigh illustration, and a 2nd C&I card(“Trotters on the Snow”) can be pretty hard to find for purchase via eBay... or any other venue! The Very RARE 3rd Currier and Ives card with a winter scene is captioned: “Winter Twilight.” “Winter Twilight” is virtually NEVER available, with only a few known examples ever offered for sale anywhere. Currently, I am unaware of any place on the internet with a color image of that rare 3rd card, “Winter Twilight,” (from the rare C&I group of cards identified by Ron Schieber as the “View Titles” series), but I will be listing in my ebay store a near-perfect “Winter Twilight” specimen (SR.186) in the coming year.
