Sir Walter Scott, 1st Baronet (1771-1832) was a Scottish historian, novelist, poet, and playwright. As an advocate, judge, and legal administrator by profession, Scott combined writing and edited with his daily work as Clerk of Session and Sheriff- Depute of Selkirkshire. He was prominent in Edinburgh's Tory establishment, active in the Highland Society, long time president of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (1820-32), and Vice President of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. Much of his literary inspiration came from German literature. Although in poor condition, interesting with female provenance & can still be read through. FORN-MSB-0923-0708-HK642-WW
