It was printed on high quality paper with text [of Mechlenburg, Nassau, and Oldenburg] on verso. There are some very minor stain spot around the edge of margin, and a small (<1/2 inch) tear at left margin as shown by the detailed photo. The title page is for your identification propose only and not included with the map. Description: This beautiful and originally hand colored map of Germany [plate No.13] was from Colton's General Atlas published by JH Colton in 1860 with its distinctive chain-link border and a copyright entry date of 1855 on the map. The map was from one of the first atlas published by the Colton family in 1860 directed by Joseph Hutchins Colton (1800 – 1893) before the Son [GW] took over this part of business several years later [and before Johnson and Browning purchased his plates or copyright and issuing nearly identical maps in 1861 and so on].
