Published in New York & Chicago: From Rand, McNally’s Indexed Atlas of the World. Very large color-printed map with original color. Copyright dated 1898 lower margins.Four Maps on one sheet (Paper size: 27 7/8 x 21 3/8’’) – Two Maps on each side. Inside: “CINCINNATI AND ENVIRONS” (15 7/8 x 19’’), “BUSINESS PORTION OF CINCINNATI” (10 ¼ x 13 ¼’’) Outside: “CLEVELAND” (12 ¼ x 19”), “TOLEDO” (12 ¼ x 19”). These historical and decorative map depicts the three cities (two of Cincinnati) in great detail. Major streets of Cleveland are named and several parks, railroads, cemeteries and buildings (including the Court House, Post Office, City Hall, Insane Asylum, and City Infirmary) are identified. Major streets of Toledo are named and several parks, railroads, depots, cemeteries and buildings (including the Court House, Post Office, City Hall (all depicted, not labeled), Water Works, Insane Asylum, and County Infirmary) are identified.Cincinnati Railroads are shown throughout. Major streets are named and several cemeteries and parks are located. Numerous buildings and institutions are also identified (Music Hall, Lookout House, Public Library…). The map along the bottom depicts an enlarged view of the “BUSINESS PORTION OF CINCINNATI”. Original maps about 120 years old, not a reproduction - in nice condition as shown in the photos.
