Description: For sale is an awesome 1943-P Jefferson Silver Wartime Nickel in awesome uncirculated condition, which is very tough to find a Wartime Nickel in. The Jefferson Wartime Nickels were minted 1942 to 1945. During these years they changed the metal composition of the coin from copper nickel to copper/silver/manganese because the nickel was needed for the war effort during WWII. This is what makes the Wartime nickels the most valuable of all Jefferson Nickels. What really distinguishes the Wartime Nickels from the other years is the very large mintmarks were placed directly over the dome of the Monticello on the reverse. Wartime Nickels are each 35% silver. As you can see from the pics the coin is in amazing condition. Usually when you find Wartime Nickels they are very dark toned, almost black. But this coin has all its original mint luster and shines. It has just a little bit of golden toning in various spots, but no major blemishes. This is a great scarce coin to have from a historic time in coin minting history. Thanks!
