1988 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

Description: 1988 Mercedes Benz 560SL.... Smoke silver with beige interior and brown soft top. Purchased to be a weekend cruiser to take to diner and the beach and I've done many improvements and upgrades. The car was repainted under previous ownership and shows well but does have a few nicks and scrapes consistent with a 37 year old car that has a manually removable top. Some blemishes in the trunk lid but they could be wet sanded/polished out. The car commands a lot of attention and the smoke silver is a beautiful color. Previous owner updated the fuel system and replaced the rear brakes and brake booster. Under my ownership, I have done the following;Replaced the muffler and all belts, 4 Bilstein shocks, 4 BF Goodrich tires (99H Rated), under hood seal, all 4 brake hoses, and spark plugs. I had the brake fluid and antifreeze flushed, oil & filter and P/S filter changed. The chrome on the hard top had the common dents and I was able to find a set which was expensive and difficult as they are no longer made. I replaced some of the weatherstrips on the soft top which is otherwise original. Various other minor issues were sorted out like lights and carpet trim. I also added an Alpine Bluetooth stereo and replace the 25 year old rear speakers with new Pioneer's. A/C works and blows cold but not from the 2 center vents (common issue on 560's) I've given this car a lot of love but my wife feels it's a bit too old for her to drive so we are onto a newer model. Perhaps the biggest strength of the car is how well it runs. I just took it on a 475 mile round trip to the east coast of Florida and it ran excellent. Clean carfax. Original books and 3 keys.
