Description: This listing is for a handcrafted Kachina doll mounted on a wood slab base. This is a SMALL Kachina doll measuring about 2.5 inches tall. You get the EXACT Kachina shown in the photo's. Please look at the photo's for the exact size you can see height and width. It features hand carving, bright hand painted details. This is a very detailed piece with great colors. This is a katchina who celebrates the harvest and the corn. He prays for enough food for all and that the harvest will be plentiful. He also celebrates and thanks the Great Spirit for what the people were able to grow and harvest for the year. This piece is part of collection from 1966 to present day. The owner has been collecting these beautiful Kachinas most of her life. However with recent passing of her husband it's time to down size :( She was in a large home and is now moving into a very small assisted living space. She is so sad not to have room for her lifetime collection. I have assured her people will love them as much as she has. :) I will be posting many more all different sizes large, medium and some are even smaller then this one :). There are more than 250 different Kachinas, each with its own separate attributes, representing everything from animals to abstract concepts. The Hopi were the original Kachina Doll carvers, using a single piece of cottonwood root. This is in good condition for it's age. It does have some feather loss due to it's age on it's head. The price has been adjusted because of this. It is signed by the artist.
