Description: 6.5 inch round stock piece of 4340 alloy steel, 4 inches long (actual OD is 6-3/4). Little higher chrome content than 4140, great for gauge making and custom tools. No certs available, but I am 100% certain it is 4340. Saw doesn't cut real straight, you are guaranteed to get 4 inches of usable material after facing. Cutting these short pieces is for checking and adjusting the blade guides on saws that I sell. That's the reason for the wonky cuts. I choose 4 inches because it allows reasonable chucking length for a threaded back plate...and it fits in a medium flat rate box for cheap shipping.
