Description: Up for sale is a rare antique early 19th century aquamanile lion figural oil lamp.This lovely temple lion lamp is made of solid gold gilded bronze, is very heavy, and has acquired a nice patina from age.It features a very elaborate hand engraved design throughout along with a dimensional lion head badge on the front of the chest. The badge holds a dangling chain that has the wick cover attached.Oil pours into the top of the head opening and a wick would be put In the mouth.It is in great condition and measures 5 1/2 inches long by 5 1/4 inches tall.
