This really is an superb article, as you can see from the photographs this writing box is made from the most exquisite teak which has been beautifully cross banded to the top and inlaid with brass. The top is beautifully cross banded and to the inner edge is inlaid with fine rope style brass inlay. There is also a lovely diamond to the center. The box is complete with it's original lock (no key), When the lid is lifted this reveals the fitted interior which consist of central open compartment divided into two which is surrounded by 9 compartments, there of which have lids. This whole tray then lift out to give access to one large compartment below. DIMENSIONS:The approximate dimensions are: - 16.5 inches / 42 cm long- 10.5 inches / 26.5 cm deep- 6 inches / 15.5 cm high AGE:The box is Victorian. CONDITION:The box is in good condition, just minor knocks and marks commensurate with age as can be seen from the photographs.
