Description: Unusual baby doll made in the early 1900's by Morimura Bros. in Japan. Morimura Brothers were a large Japanese Import House based in USA and they imported dolls during the first world war when Germany were otherwise engaged! This is a character baby with lovely blue glass sleeping eyes and with a bent limb composition baby body. Open mouth with two top teeth, painted eyelashes and brows and with blushed cheeks. I do not think the wig is original. Dressed in knitted white pants and vest and bootees and with a blue and white knitted dress, the doll is 36cm (14") tall. One eye is slightly out of line when doll is laid down - fine when the eyes are open.
