Description: Up for sale is a neat carved wood figure. I guess it was a doll or toy. Looks very early. I believe it dates to around 1835 or so. It does have a base with square nails. The base might be slightly later but no later than 1880. The figure has 2 nails as eyes and a carved mouth. Lots of wear to the paint. It does have some sort or nail or iron piece through its head but not sure why as the piece is all carved out of a single piece of wood. Head is not attached with the nail as far as i can tell. Neat piece of folk art. Found in Maine or NH. 4 and half inches tall. See can for scale. Condition: Nice displayable condition. Loads of wear to the paint but really its a great dry surface. Just the best patina. All original paint. No touch ups. The best was a possible addition but I would assume it was done by 1880 if not earlier. Base shows good age and oxidation as well. Displays well. See photos and video.
