Description: This antique perfume bottle for the scent, Violet Sec Toilet Water by Richard Hudnut, is in the condition I found it in when I unearthed it from my property while planting a flower bed.It is in need of cleaning, but I have not attempted to remove the stopper for fear of damaging it.This bottle has a smooth front where the label would have been, and the reverse side has RICHARD HUDNUT NEW YORK, 4 Fl Ozs Net in raised lettering. The sides have his logo in raised lettering. The underside has the number 603.The bottle is about 7" inches tall. It matches the bottle in a 1914 advertisement for a toilet water called Violet Sec, a photo of which I have included. I have also included an artist's rendering of how the bottle looked with scent inside and label affixed to outside. The advertisement reads: The value of toilet water is the feeling of freshness its use inspires. The delicacy of Violet Sec Toilet Water, its elusive fragrance and lasting quality have made it the choice of smart women everywhere. In the late 1800’s to early 1900’s, Richard A. Hudnut, a New York businessman manufactured perfumes, cosmetics and beauty products. He is believed to be the first American to achieve international success in the cosmetics industry.**Stopper has areas of damage. Has not been cleaned for fear of damaging stopper when removed. No guarantee that stopper will hold up and not deteriorate or disintegrate once removed**
