It was in my family from the late 80's and a prized possession of my uncle. through the years my uncle bragged about this robe and told this story over and over again.This item was acquired in Florida through Jake LaMotte from Ali himself. The robe is exceptional quality and not the mass type robes that are bulk signed as this robe speaks for itself on its quality along with the type of robes Ali wore for personal use.Though I can not prove any of the history of how this item was obtained, it was part of a large collection that my uncle had collected as he was friends with Jake LaMotte and the robe was acquired at the time, it was signed by Ali and given to Jake for my uncle, as my uncle always begged Jake for owning a robe off Ali's back!! There is one big spot on the robe that I have no history on how it got there if it was obtained that way or happened after my uncle received the Robe, I know the robe was worn by Ali but can not prove that either. The spot looks like white out or paint was put over what ever is being covered up? but have no explanation on it. I have searched the internet looking for Ali wearing this robe with no luck. This robe is a must have for its quality and having one of Ali's greatest quotes that was written by Ali himself.
