Description: "The American Instructor: or, Young Man's Best Companion..." by George Fisher. Printed by Benjamin Franklin and D. Hall in Market Street, 1753 (10th edition). Features a wide array of knowledge deemed necessary for a young man living in the 18th century: reading, writing, agriculture, medicine, etc. Original binding. Leather cover shows cracking, but binding is tight. With four full or partial plates (There may be some missing; I do not know how many the book originally included). Contains advertisement page following index, listing nine titles "lately published and to be sold" by Franklin & Hall. Pages are generally very good for their age, with only typical age-related foxing and browning. Lacking blank flyleaves. Approximately 1" tear to page 77. Light prior owner name inscription on inner cover. Please see photos for condition examples.
