Description: The Bittel Family From Vinningen, Rhineland, Pfalz 1672 - 2020, by Joseph Larry Dean & Amelia Kelly, published by the authors. First edition, 2020, quarto, viii, 264pp, 100 illustrations, 2 indices, dark reddish buckram with gilt titles, as new, unmarked inside and out, but for first author's signature / date at title-page. Traces the lineage of George Buettel, (1672 - 1719) from the small village of Vinningen; and follows the paper trail, circa 1850, to Erie, Pennsylvania, where his descendant, George Bittel, the immigrant, met and married the widow, Barbara, nee Schrempf, Sueppel. They left Pennsylvania and began the westward journey to Cincinnati, Ohio, Fulda, Indiana, and finally to Rome, Daviess County, Kentucky. Their children married and assimilated into the families of Ebelhar, Bell, Wink, Weaver, Hurm, Snyder, Reisz, and many other local families. The book is not just a list of names and dates, but covers the local color and history of a family who put down roots in Rome, Daviess County, Kentucky in 1888. Also includes a chapter on the descendants of John Joseph Sueppel, Sr. who settled in Iowa in the 1850s. Very scarce.
