Description: Recent North Carolina estate find. Offering a Booths 4 1/4" jug or pitcher in the Summer Rose pattern. Full capacity is approximately 14 ounces. This piece is marked with an early 1900's mark as well as "Silicon China." Silicon China was a name given to an improved, thin & lightweight earthenware body. It was used in the catering markets; restaurants, hotels, sea liners and railways. There is an outside possibility that this piece was actually made to be a mug or a drinking vessel; there is no spout, this Booth's line included use for transportation catering, and it has a wide bottom for more stability. For its age, overall excellent condition. There is a very tiny and thin glaze flake on the bottom edge, a light discoloration small patch inside and some extremely faint and fine transparent crazing (see last two photos). Still displays amazingly well and none of these slight inclusions distract from the display value of this piece. Please see photographs for overall design, dimensions, and condition.
