This section has 103 hymns.The work of Nahum Tate (1652-1715), and Nicholas Brady (1659-1726), a metrical version of the Psalter which supplanted the older version of Thomas Sternhold and John Hopkins. It first appeared in 1696. Naham Tate was born in Dublin, Ireland, and was renowned as a poet. He became Poet Laureate in 1692, and is supposed to have done the most work on the traslation of the Psalter.Nicholas Brady was an Anglican divine and poet, born in Bandon, County Cork, Ireland. His collaboration with Naham Tate to produce the "New Version of the Psalms of David," is his most-remembered work.With a signed provenance card from the music collection of A.
