Description: This Holy Bible, published in London by George Eyre and Andrew Strahan containing the old and New Testaments translated from the original tongues compared and revised by His Majesty Special Command in 1816, is a rare treasure for any collector of antique books. Printed by the King's Printers, this edition is a Stereotype Edition and is in the English language. The leather binding and special attributes of this Bible make it truly unique. The Bible belonged to Harriett Ashes and she received it in 1816 as it is inscribed on the front leaflet page probably as a gift from her wealthy family while she was still a young woman. Then the inscription continued to Harriett Alldritt 1821 and Joseph Alldritt( the change in the last name is an indication of that she got married to Joseph Alldritt ). This bible contains a newspaper clippings obituary of Emma Alldritt an infant girl in the age of 15 months , daughter of George V. And Louisa Alldritt. The Alldritt family originated in Middlesex, England and Marylebone London England. I truly hope that this antique bible will be reunited with the Alldritt family descendants. Whether you are a collector or a religious scholar, this original edition of the Holy Bible is sure to be a valuable addition to your collection.
