Description: Ceralene Raynaud Limoges Vieux Chine 5 1/4" Footed Melon Bowl...A Beautiful Porcelain Large Footed Melon / Serving Bowl, (Empire Shape) in the Vieux Chine pattern by Ceralene / Raynaud. Made in Limoges, France, this Lovely pattern was originally designed in the 18th century by the Compagnie Francaise des Indes for the Marquise de Pompadour (Madame Pompadour), mistress, friend and advisor to King Louis XV. It features all - white porcelain decorated in a chinoiserie pattern with a vibrant orange and blue floral design of beautiful, lush poppies and chrysanthemums with green feathery leaves, an orange, yellow and blue - green beaded border, gold trim.
