Description: This is a mess kit which has been attributed to the Spanish American War. This appears to have been displayed in a museum at some point. (The tags on Front and Back are identical. But front is in rough shape) It appears to be attached to the wood board and I can’t open the mess kit. There is a US marking on the retainer. (See photo) If you have any questions.
