Patent dates are 1863 and 1864. Normal size cast steel box and keeper with the key escutcheon and the knob escutcheon for the other side of the door. Utilizes a standard 5/16" square knob post for the turn handle. (if you need black or white porcelain knobs for use with this, let us know and we can add to the order before you buy it). Fully restored. Comes with a 4" brass key and it works perfectly. Covered with dirt, grime so we bead blasted it and then applied a clear coast. Perfect for a period door. This piece is very well crafted and very heavy duty. The keeper attaches to the door frame while the main body is attached to the inside surface of the door. Very nice condition. The box measures 3 1/2" wide by 4 1/2" high. 2 5/8" backset. Both the lock body and the matching keeper are tapered. The lock is not reversible. Just need a few screws and its ready for your project!
