Description: From 1980 and 1981: Here’s the first complete story arc of Prince Gavyn aka STARMAN! This exciting tale mixes science fiction heroics with a healthy dose of palace intrigue. Author Paul Levitz created the character and his universe and wrote all thirteen chapters of this stellar mini-epic. The first twelve chapters appeared as 9-page stories in Adventure Comics #s 467-478, all brilliantly illustrated by comics legend Steve Ditko. The full-length conclusion appeared in DC Comics Presents #36 and featured Superman and Mongul. The finale was illustrated by the man known for cosmic storytelling, Jim Starlin! You will receive a total of 13 comics. The issues of Adventure Comics also feature tales of Plastic Man and Aquaman. These are unrelated to the Starman storyline, but are very enjoyable. Also, Starman has a mystical teacher who trains Gavyn in the use of his powers. The teacher tragically dies but later returns as a ghost to advise Starman. Remarkably, DC was not sued! These comics have not been professionally graded. The quality of most of these books is good. The cover of Adventure Comics #469 has some scuff marks.
