This is a beautiful vine, that gets glossy green heart shaped leaves and it also produces unique purple tubers, that are supposedly edible, although I have not personally tried them yet. I will add here that in some areas, such as portions of Florida, this can grow aggressively and is best avoided in such areas, unless it is grown in a fully contained area. In zone 8 they are not invasive in any way from my observations, and are simply beautiful vines. They are hardy to at least USDA zone 8, and possibly colder.
