Description: Here's a lovely set of bulldog bookends that were imported from Japan by Takahashi Trading of San Francisco. The dogs are white tri-color English bulldogs, and they haven't missed a meal! The ceramic has a crazed finish to give them an antique look. The bookend bases measure approximately 5 3/4" x 3 1/8". Overall height is 6 1/2". Both pieces retain original Takahashi foil labels on the bottom. The bottoms are lined with a black think rubber type material so that they won't slide when in use. Each has a "foldaway" piece that reveals a stopper and hole. They can be filled with sand/weight for use to hold books. The only issue on either is that a piece of the "foldaway" bottom is missing on one bookend. Please feel free to email with any questions prior to bidding or buying.
