Syenite-rich fluorescent sodalite was recently discovered in Michigan on the shores of Lake Superior, but has since been found along the shores of other Great Lakes such as Lake Erie. The widely held belief as to how EMBERLITE became scattered throughout the Great Lakes region is from the last movement of glacial activity, leaving these syenite-rich fluorescent sodalite at the bottom of multiple Great Lakes to eventually be washed ashore.
