This print is beautifully detailed, down to the worn edge of the visor on his driving helmet. On the other half of the spread, a striking image of a 1960 Porsche Formula Two airstream model. Though simple, it is beautifully printed, with a nice interplay of light and shadow on the model. Von Trips' career was tragically ended in a fatal collision with Jim Clark's Lotus during the 1961 Italian Grand Prix at Monza. While most of his career was spent behind the wheel of a Ferrari, he drove a Porsche 718 for most of the 1959 season. Prints are suitable for framing, and beautifully executed in the 2005 Porsche Wind Tunnel calendar. Since the calendar is spiral bound, the inside of each image was slightly trimmed. Prints look great framed and matted with border down the middle, or framed separately and hung side-by-side. In gorgeous, mint condition. Clean and crisp on heavy semi-gloss stock.
