Description: The Boeing 777 is a wide-bodied airliner commonly referred to as the "Triple Seven". The 777 was designed to bridge the gap between Boeing's 767 and 747, and also to replace older Douglas DC-10's and Lockheed L-1011's. The program was launched on October 14th, 1990, with the first order from United Airlines. The 777 first entered commercial service with United Airlines on June 7th, 1995. The Boeing 777-X series is the latest of the long range, wide body, twin engine jet airliners. The 777X was launched in November of 2013 with two variants; the 777-8 and 777-9. The 777-8 has a range of 8,730 miles with a 384 passenger capacity. The 777-9 has a 7,285 range and a 426 passenger capacity. There have been over 340 orders for the 777X passenger and freighter versions.
