Description: Imperial German, Great War, infantry Line Officers Late War Rare Black Duty Belt & Buckle with 2 side buckles for accessories. In over 40 years of collecting this is the first Officers Belt and Buckle I’ve seen that was dyed black to conform with mid-war regulations. All the Officers Duty originally natural leather Belts & Buckles I’ve had prior to this one have been brown. Imperial Germany was a federation of twenty-seven kingdoms, duchies, principalities and "free and imperial cities". By far the largest of these components was Prussia, whose King also bore the title of German emperor. The belt measures 40”for a waist no greater than 38”. This is an item is over 106 years old and still retains its flexibility and looks for both display and wear. 2014 marked the 100th anniversary of the start of the Great War. The Visor Cap shown is NOT included in this sale, it is now with a new collector. See my other listings for additional Great War items.
