Description: This is a rare souvenir program from the Original German production of the MAURY YESTON and ARTHUR KOPIT musical "PHANTOM" which toured in 1994 and 1995, performing at a number of theaters including the Staatstheater in Kassel, Germany. (The World Premiere of Yeston and Kopit's version of The Phantom of the Opera took place on January 31st, 1991 at Theatre Under the Stars in Houston, Texas.) ..... The musical starred MATTHEW SHEPARD in the title role and included KRISTIN CHENOWETH (three years before she would make her Broadway debut in "Steel Pier"), who alternated with several other actresses in the role of "Christine Daae".
