The front of the scabbard and hilt is adorned with colorful floral enamel, framed by delicate metal ropework and gold electroplating. The reverse side showcases niello panels with elaborate chiseling, highlighting many different types of elaborate craftwork. The dagger's blade is steel, sharp but more ornamental than combat-ready. The scabbard is made from high grade silver, roughly sterling, .900-.93. I've included an image of the silver test result from a small scratched spot on the inside of the scabbard well down the inside and not visible. The handle very much appears to be made from the same material. It's not a super heavy piece but it's quite solid and obviously presents very well.Similar pieces are still made traditionally in Kubachi, and range from $1200-$2500 equivalent in Rubles at the quality this one has been produced. This piece is likely from the 70's-90's. Condition - Good overall condition. - Some light surface wear to the gold plating in a few spots, mainly down at the very bottom of the scabbard on what would be the inverse of a pommel I suppose. There is a little spot of discoloration around the suspension loop kind of on the back side of the scabbard where a decal was removed and there appears to be a small remain of a finger print. Also a spot on the side of the rear scabbard where it looks like a drop of polish got on the niello and plate, nothing I had anything to do with but still worth pointing out. Blade is slightly loose in the handle but securely held, these are basically epoxy'd in and after many years of storage in a dry climate it is a little brittle. The scabbard has a cardboard liner which puts a little wear on the blade from pulling in and out. Everything is pretty clear in the photos, if you have condition questions please ask them.
