Description: Lima Beans This is the 3rd year we have grown the Lima bean on the farm. It's a wonderful producer with 2-3 beans in each pod, but produces many pods!! Our farm grows organically and of all of our beans, these see the least amount of pests. The bushes also grow insanely well during 100 degree days. The Lima beans put on quite a few pods early on, but slowly stopped producing. We were pretty disappointed, but all of this July rain has kicked them into high gear! Branches just full of flowers are starting to form with little green bean pods popping out of each side. We are currently picking beans each day to dry out for seed. The quantities available may increase as the season progresses.
