Description: Here is a bit of an oddity from Lionel Trains' foray into trying to become a toy conglomerate back in the sixties. Lionel began venturing into other areas, like chemistry sets, microscopes, and child themed phonographs. This is one of those record players. Adorable Winnie the Pooh graphics on this one! I believe that the record players were by a company called Spear that Lionel either partnered with or bought outright. Anyway, this one has a few issues. There is some wear, but the main cosmetic damage is where the prior owner made a little notch in the case to feed the electric cord through (see the second to last picture). More importantly, it looks to me like the record player inside of this case is actually a replacement! It is marked "The Midge" and has settings for 33, 45, and 78 RPM records. However the outer case says only 45 and 78. I am NO expert on these, but I feel that this is a replacement that some prior owner put into the Winnie the Pooh case. I plugged it in, and while I heard motor sounds, it did NOT function (turntable did not rotate). Still, perhaps a nice display piece for the Pooh fans out there! Measures about 13 x 11 x 6 inches.
