Description: This is a scarce early 1850s iron pontil A.Allen Lumberton, NJ deep green ale or porter bottle with Milford Glass Works on back!......A.ALLEN LUMBERTON N.J. bold embossed on front of bottle...MILFORD GLASS WORKS bold emb on back in arch....Red iron pontil sunken bottom....crude applied double collar...dark green ...round porter shape with square shoulder....6 5/8"tall....Sparkling nice condition with no chips, dings or damage of any kind. A shiny clean bottle with no haze. I dont believe it was ever in the ground since it has no wear. The bold embossing has been highlighted with white paint which can be removed if you like...I guarantee all the lettering is nice and bold. Albert Allen was listed as a bottler of Ale & Porter in Lumberton in the early 1850s. This is about as nice an example of this hard to find bottle you will see!....
