Description: Alan Moore and Gary Leach’s MiracleMan ( ...aka Marvelman) made the transfer from Dez Skin’s Warrior Magazine to Eclipse Publishing in 1985 as the English magazine sought new venues for it’s strips. Warrior had placed V for Vendetta at DC comics earlier in the year and anticipated an easier time with their lead strip from Moore and Leach..., however Marvelman had a long history in British comics dating back to the 50’s and carried the name of their biggest competitor in the above ground market and the change had to be made.Moore and Leach had left the strip but eclipse added talent like Neil Gaiman and Mark Buckingham to continue the character in the American edition comics. This is a double sized poster released by Eclipse to promote the first issue of Miracle Man drawn by Gary Leach and only available to the handful of comic book stores that existed during those years. It was never offered to the general public it is on glossy paper with bright colors and it’s been approved for almost 40 years. A true vintage collectible and a must-have for any Miracle man /Marvel man collector the first issue from the small publisher remains quite rare for what is considered one of Moore’s and Leach’s masterworks and the property that began the opportunities to work in American comics for many of those fine British talents. Also included or two of the original British warrior magazines that Originally carried Miracleman by Moore and Leach and V for Vendetta by Moore and David Lloyd… Extremely hard to find in the US because of their limited distribution, these make a perfect complement to the promo poster that advertised this amazing work to the US market.
