On July 29, 2020, the Seattle Mariners visited the Los Angeles Angels of California in the City of Anaheim. Justin Dunn started for the Mariners, while Andrew Heaney took the hill for the Angels. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Angels were up 3-1. Jason Castro led off. Nick Margevicius had replaced Dunn for the Mariners. Margevicius HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! He started with a four-seam fastball for a called strike. (Yes, that means Joseph Odom also touched this ball!!) Margevicius followed that with a slider for a ball. He threw another slider with this ball that Castro swung at and missed. On the fourth pitch of the AB, Margevicius threw another four-seamer, and Castro HIT THIS BALL FOR A FLY OUT TO DYLAN MOORE IN LF. Margevicius got this ball back. Brian Goodwin came to bat wearing cleats that honored Kobe Bryant and Nipsey Hussle! (Note that I have the “other” pair of these cleats listed. Goodwin wore that pair for two games and autographed both cleats.) Margevicius threw a curveball for a ball. He then tried a four-seamer for another ball. Margevicius found the strike zone on his seventh pitch with this ball. On the eighth pitch, he threw a ball. On the ninth pitch, Margevicius threw a four-seam fastball, and GOODWIN SMACKED THIS BALL TO CENTER FIELD FOR HIS FIRST HOME RUN OF THE SEASON!!! The Angels went up 4-1 but eventually lost 10-7 despite hits from Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, Justin Upton, Tommy La Stella, and Goodwin (of course). (David Fletcher, Anthony Rendon, Jared Walsh, Taylor Ward, Castro, and Max Stassi all went hitless.)
