Description: Motorola All Transistor Radio X41E-1. Cosmetically in the used condition shown. Has wear on the unit but with a past owner name (including pre zip-code address) on it 3 times it also looks it was taken care of as possibly once an important possession. There is a very slight amount of tape residue on the bottom - almost unnoticeable. The name labels where not removed at to not create any more tape residue on the radio. One internet source advised this is from ~ 1962. The units serial number may indicate it to be a prototype or early production. Leather Top Grain Cowhide outer cover. Power on/off as normal. Volume works as normal. Dials, despite showing some pitting both work very smooth. Tuning - it is difficult to tune in the vid (go to 3:45 for really good tuning) however when looking at it face forward it is a lot easier. Not sure what the button on the top front left is for. It has an antenna connection. Not sure it has an internal bar antenna but a persons proximity to the unit can affect the tuning at times similar to any older AM radio. Once tuned it can be left in place will hold the channel. The battery pack/holder may not be original according to the instructions on the back. It has - just on one spring - some slight green residue (not at the end of the spring) that does not affect operation in any way. It may have also had another door in the battery area? Not sure. However the hard leather case when snapped shut holds the batteries in as normal. 4 well-used AA alkaline of mixed brands were in the test. If purchased DO NOT connect to a 9V battery even though it looks like it would fit as it might damage the radio. The serial number of all "1"'s looks like an early production or possibly even a prototype for this model. Because it is old and anything can go wrong with it at any time it is being sold for parts not working and with no returns. Sale is the Motorola All Transistor Radio X41E-1 in pics only.
