Description: Vintage New Hermes Brass Master Copy Type set from the estate of a hobby engraver. The 5/16" letters, numerals, and symbols are engraved on beveled 1-1/4" blanks of special long wearing hard brass. This 307 piece Condensed Block font set #35-016 was initially purchased as an expanded font set with STD-01 and SUP-15 assortments in QuickType format, a popular type face with a special shape allowing for quick setup/interchanging of individual letters from any part of the composition. STD-01 initally included 160 pieces is missing 11 spacers. SUP-15 is complete with all 65 pieces. There are additional 101 pieces as shown in the pictures. These pieces are also Condensed Block font, but with a flat bottom. There is a picture showing the difference. New Hermes was founded in 1938 and became Gravograph in 1989, so this set is at least 25 years old. The original partitioned plastic box is in great condition for its age with yellowing and shelf wear. Please see pictures for details as they are part of the description.
