Description: 200 seeds from Oriental Poppy harvested in Summer of 2024 for 2025 season - open-pollinated grown without herbicides or pesticides. Unlike most poppies, this one is a Perennial. Large and showy 2 to 3 inch orange/scarlet blossoms with black centers. Oriental poppies grow in a central mound of hairy leaves. They bloom in early-summer. After flowering the seed pod forms and plant dies back to just a few leaves, a property that allows their survival the heat of summer. Good germination - seeds tested 7-2-2024. Since seeds are small, suggest starting indoors in pots until plants are at least an inch tall, sprinkle seeds on top of soil and keep soil moist until seedlings get established, plant outdoors and minimize disturbing roots in early fall or early spring after last frost. Grow in sunny location with well-drained soil. Once established, requires little care. Shipped via first-class mail. US buyers only.
