Description: BID EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT & CHECK WHEN THIS ITEM ENDS - THANKS FOR LOOKING!Pair of antique Meiji period quadrangular Japanese cloisonné enamel vases - marked to baseI am looking to sell a superb looking pair of antique Meiji period quadrangular Japanese cloisonné enamel vases, both of which are signed to the bottom with character marks as photographed. These have been beautifully made with polychrome cloisonne enamels and nicely decorated. They are Meiji period and a very unusual shape, both still look excellent on display in my opinion. Both have ear like hoop handles as photographed. Lots of decoration all over with dragons to the panels at the bottom. Both vases still display fine and look well on display, as per my photos. These vases are very old and show overall wear including scratches, pitting or imperfections in the cloisonné and some little black spots. There are also some little areas missing enamel, imperfections, bumps / small bruises to outer corners as per my photos. Red copper colour can be seen around the upper rim edges were brass or gilding has worn. Some corners may have a little bump or some enamel flaked off, but nothing that is of great concern (in my own opinion) – everybody’s opinion of something is different so please make up your own mind before bidding. Each measures approx. 6 1/8” in height and 3 1/8” wideBoth weigh approx. 900g. unpacked.
