But based on what I’ve seen, I feel that my bayonet is in better shape than any of the others, at the time of this listing. Mine appears to have been manufactured and then put away without any use what-so-ever. You be the judge. Use the zoom feature to get “up close and personal” and compare mine to any of the others. Look at the sheath front and back. There is No sign of wear on the wire cutter tip on either side. the sharpening stone does not appear to have ever been used. Look closely at the edges of all the black metal pieces on the knife and sheath. This is where "wear" will show. There are no scratches, scuffs, flaws or any other signs of wear on the sheath, and the straps look brand NEW. The bayonet itself is also flawless on both the handle and the blade. The M-9 multi-purpose bayonet designed by Phrobis III Ltd. and manufactured by Buck Knives has been selected by the U.S. Army to succeed the old M-7 bayonet. This is the genuine, authentic blade issued by the U.S. military. It is not a reproduction and only 325K of these were made. Any M-9 that is stamped "BUCK" on the blade is a civilian issued knife.
