Rough cut yellow pine is planed down to a perfect ¾" thickness The corners are rabbeted and attached using 1.5" 16-gauge galvanized nails and Titebond wood glue The removeable cage that sits in the tray fits snugly in order to keep the bees out of the open area The galvanized steel tray is hand shaped to fit into the wooden frame We use 12-gauge 1/8" galvanized steel mesh to make the ladder and the safety cover.
