These were the first hat badges used by the Philippine Constabulary, and were only in service for a few years before being replaced by the second generation officer hat badge in the early 1900's. I guarantee it is original and authentic for the lifetime of your ownership. The screw post is straight and the stabilizer spike is present, and uncut. The screw fastener is not original, but fits and spins smoothly. It has not been cleaned in any way and still retains most of its gold gilt finish. It is in museum quality condition, and hopefully will end up in one. The last photo is of General Rafael Crame as a young officer that is one of the only photos I can find of this badge even being worn. This photo is not included in the sale.
