Description: This necklace is composed of antique Chinese Qing Dynasty carved carnelian Shou beads, which was believed to bring longevity and good fortune to its owner. These beads were most likely salvaged from an antique court necklace and strung to create this piece by a collector or previous owner. There is a solid 14K gold spring ring clasp. The Shou symbol is carved on many different types of stones and gems but the fine way in which it is carved on these Carnelian beads is extremely rare to come by. The delicate design and craftsmanship of this beads attest to the skills of ancient Chinese artisans. The necklace can be worn as is but it may be restrung. A total of thirty five 11mm beads completes this piece. It weighs 55 grams. Necklace is 15 inches long. Clasp is solid 14K Gold. In excellent condition. Originating from ancient China, this antique necklace is a unique piece that will be a great addition to any collection. Please ask questions. Thank you and do look at my other jewelry from vintage to antiques.
