Description: This is a Rare shaped Double handled dish- not sure what Hawkes originally marketed the purpose to be, but I have seen it called a "Double handled Master salt". It would be a large salt if that is correct/This piece is signed by the company who made it- the trefoil Hawkes mark is in the center.I have seen this exact piece 2 times in all of my years of collecting- this one here I have owned for a decade and 1 that sold at auction on ebay for $525 on 12-10-21 (picture included at the end). That seller called it the "Double handle master salt in the Oxford pattern" But I was not able to substantiate that was the pattern- It is Hawkes though and this is a rare one regardless.Measure: 7-3/4" long with handles and and the dish is 6" long by 3-1/2" wide by 1-3/4" tall. Condition: This is 0ver 120 years old- the handles are both attached but one has some minor checking where it is annealed/attached- see picture but it causes no issues. There is some very minor micro contact roughness around the outer or inner edge of the top rim but no large chips or noticeable issues. very minor see pictures. It is a great little rare piece. Authenticity: It is from the American brilliant period, (late 1800's to 1920) which is over 100 years old now! I know what "ABP cut glass" is. I never sell other types of glass as ABP cut glass so you can be assured this is genuine. Unfortunately today so many resellers are not educated in glass and misrepresent their items, and then some know they are scamming too because they are told repeatedly and do not correct there listing.
