Description: Rare Large Antique 19th Century Austrian Hungarian 13 Loth Silver Belt Buckle This stunningly large belt buckle was hand made around the 1840s in the Austro-Hungarian Empire and features a beautiful ornate filigree design adorned with blue and red gemstones. It is attached to a more recent black suede belt measuring 1 1/2" wide and was probably worn by a person of high social status since regular people could not afford Silver items of this size and quality. This ornate antique piece measures 6 1/4" long x 3" wide (when both halves are attached together) and weighs 130 grams. The piece carries a 13 loth (812 Silver) hallmark and a "M" mark which could be the city mark for "Trieste". Very unusual and rare piece!
