Description: The pictures here are of one of my benches currently being used in my workshop. Pricing is determined by the type of wood used, dimensions requested and whether you would like vises installed. This is a French 18th century style workbench and has recently become popular based on the writings of Christopher Schwarz. It is an excellent design with massive legs and stretchers and a thick slab top. It allows the user to work efficiently on the faces, edges and ends of boards. Because of the simplicity of the design, it is easy to change certain aspects of the bench or add onto as your work styles or methods change and evolve. I generally recommend a large leg vise and some sort of end vise. There are several options available at different price points and levels of finish. If you want the best, I generally recommend Benchcrafted hardware because it really is top notch. It does, however, come at a price. Another option is a large wooden screw for the leg vise. This bench is 6' in length and about 20" wide. The widths generally range from 20"-24" and length could either be 6', 7', 8' or 9'. These measurements would of course change the price. The type of wood used changes the price as well and is subject to availability. I have built benches from maple, walnut, pine, douglas fir and cherry. If you are interested in a workbench, please contact me and we can talk about what you want, what it would cost and a timeline for when it could be completed. Local pickup would be easiest, but I'm happy to help with shipping however I can. Based on the size and weight of the bench it will need to go freight. Shipping will need to be set up and paid for by the buyer.
