Here's your solution. I've upgraded my SRAM 22 group to be compatible with 12 speed Shimano so you can use your HG free hub. All you need is a 12 speed chain and crank set. I used a GRX 11 speed crank set and never had an issue. I'm sure the other Shimano 11 speed cranks will also be fine. I linked the Ratio Tech web page and tried to highlight how the derailleur jockey wheels have changed. The rival shifter has the 12 speed pawl inside of it.
