Sterling Cufflinks w/ Alexandria Tetradms of Claudius II 269 AD & Probus 276 AD

I do not use stock photos or photos of other people's items, unless otherwise indicated.This is a pair of sterling silver cufflinks that have been carefully mounted with tetradrachmas (19 to 20mm in diameter) of two Roman Emperors in the province of Alexandria Egypt. One was struck during the reign of Claudius II Gothicus 268-270 AD. The legends are in Greek. Specifically visible above his bust are the Greek letters KL (kappa lambda) the first two letters of his name. The reverse is not visible but would have an eagle and the letters LB for 269 AD. The second is a coin struck during the reign of Probus 276-282 AD. More Greek letters are visible including his full name PROBOC in Greek starting with the letter pi. His bust, facing right, is laureate and cuirassed. The reverse, noty visible, would also have an eagle with an L and a date letter between 276 and 282 AD. The coins, safely removed, sell for $50 to $100 each. These have not and should not be cleaned. The sterling mount portions could be carefully polished avoiding the coins. The last two photos are similar coins of Claudius II and Probus for comparison, not included. Significant flaws not depicted in the photos are described here-with, minor flaws and normal wear are not. Unless the item is described as new, assume there will be minor flaws or wear commensurate with a used item of given age.
