The prints reproduced here all date from the period, around the middle of the 19th century when the ukiyo-e went into its final decline. Chronologically, thus, this volume is the last in a series that begins in the mid 18th century with Harunobu, originator of the polychrome print. In these pages, we witness the final flowering of the three main types of ukiyo-e print: pictures of beautiful women, actor pictures and the landscape. This book is in very good confdition with staining on the front & back flaps (see photos).
